with iron has no effect on any red blood cell parameters (e.g., red blood
cell count or hemoglobin) |

and does not improve the ability of the blood to carry oxyen.
It is not possible to boost the red blood cell count or oxygen content |

of the blood by giving extra iron to a horse that is already
getting enough. Excess iron has been proven to be toxic, both to foals and
